In this article, we'll guide you through accessing and navigating your Cutover account.

User authentication

Access to your Cutover account can be granted in one of two ways—through an email invitation sent to you by a member of your team or Single Sign-On (SSO). Both methods allow you to authenticate and gain access to your instance of the Cutover platform.

  • Email invite: Create your Cutover account from an invite sent to your email address.

  • Single Sign-On: If SSO is enabled for your account, your identity will be verified by your internal SSO provider prior to logging in.

    • Note: For issues connecting via SSO, please refer to your internal team's troubleshooting resources.

Log in to your Cutover account

Email invite

If you have been granted access to Cutover via email invite, you will receive an email invite with a registration link; the subject to the email invite will read, "You've been invited to join Cutover by [team member]."

To create and log into your account from the invite, follow the steps below:

  1. Click Accept Invitation in your invite.

  2. Next, enter the following details:

    • Mobile number: Enter a phone number if you wish to receive SMS notifications from your Cutover instance. This is optional.

    • Memorable word: If you have opted in to receive SMS messages, you will need to enter a memorable word for verification purposes when receiving SMS notifications.

    • Create and confirm password: Enter a password for your account. This is what you will use to log in to your account. Your password must contain at least 8 characters, one punctuation mark or symbol, and one number.

  3. Click Submit.

Once you've successfully accepted the invitation, you will be able to log in to your Cutover account with the credentials you've created. We recommend that you bookmark the URL of your login page for easy future access.

SSO login

If you have been granted access to Cutover via SSO, you will receive an email invite with a registration link; the subject to the email invite will read, "You've been invited to join Cutover by [team member]."

    • Note: You will not be asked to enter a password for SSO login.

  3. Click Submit.

Once you've successfully accepted the invitation, you will be able to log in to your Cutover account via SSO. We recommend that you bookmark the URL of your login page for easy future access.

Note: Two further email reminders will be sent out by default after 3 and 7 days.

Manage your account details

Manage your account details at any time. Click the My Profile icon on the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.

This will open the My Details menu. In this menu, you will be able to update the following:

  • Name

  • Nickname

  • Memorable word

  • SMS notification frequency

  • Job title

  • Bio

You will be unable to edit the following on your own:

  • Email address

  • Role type

  • Login option

To make changes to these fields, please contact the administrator for your Cutover instance.

Reset your password

Resetting your account credentials differs based on your login method. If your organization has enabled SSO for your account, please follow your team's internal password reset process or refer to your internal troubleshooting resources.

If you are using email authentication, follow the steps below:

  1. On the login screen, click Forgot password.

  2. Enter your registered email address.

  3. Click Submit.

You will receive a password reset email with a link to create a new password. If you have been sent more than one password reset email, only the most recent email will be valid.

Unlock your account

An account will automatically lock after 7 failed login attempts. Once locked, you will receive an email that details when your account will be unlocked, typically after 60 minutes.

Note: These default settings can be changed depending on your organization's needs during onboarding. However, feel free to contact your Customer Success Manager or our support team at any time for further assistance.

Alternatively, an admin can unlock the account by heading to Access Management and clicking the unlock button in the user details panel.
