Cutover brings your change activity together in one unique platform. You can have greater visibility into change events, current team tasks, and more all in one collaborative space.

Let’s take a look at how the platform works.

Runbooks

A runbook chronologically details all of the actions — referred to as tasks — that are planned in an event. When the event is live, users work through the tasks assisted by automated notifications.

A runbook consists of the following:

  1. Tasks: A list of activities or actions executed within a runbook

  2. Streams: A group of specific, categorized tasks within a runbook.

  3. Teams: Consists of users assigned to planned tasks and stakeholders.

You can add multiple runbooks to an event in cases where different categories of work are performing simultaneously.

Streams add another layer of organization within runbooks and are beneficial in categorizing and filtering different areas of activity.

Runbooks can be created directly within the Cutover platform or uploaded via CSV. Using teams, you have the ability to add users to planned tasks, and stakeholders can view the progress.

Runbooks can be edited and tested as many times as needed before it is officially set to run live. You can view runbook progress in real time, communicate with teammates, and receive notifications when it’s your turn to perform a task.

Templates allow you to create runbooks based on settings you've previously defined, making your workflow more efficient. You can optionally make use of template workflow, which gives you the ability to select a user to approve or reject templates that have been created after a set review period.

Integrations

You can easily connect Cutover with many commonly used work applications such as AWS Service Catalog, Ansible, Jenkins, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and many more. Add a Custom Integration to create bi-directional integrations to connect with any third-party app to:

  • Gain complete visibility and control throughout the process (no black box)

  • Save time and streamline integration maintenance and upgrade processes

  • Reduce risk and increase security with multiple security protocol options (OAuth, etc.)

Home

The Home dashboard provides users with a personalized view of their events, runbooks, and tasks.
